Eligibility criteria
- Courses & Discipline: Postgraduate candidates pursuing MBA/MMS/ PGDBA/PGDM Coursefrom a Recognized University with specialization in Marketing / Finance / Operations / Supply Chain Management / Information Technology / General Management / Business Analytics / Project Management or related disciplines for the batch 2024 from a recognized university / college.
- Minimum aggregate (aggregate of all subjects in all semesters) of 50% or above or equivalent CGPA in each of ‘Class 10th, Class 12th, Diploma (if applicable), Graduation which includes successful completion of final year/semester.
- Course Types: Only full-time courses will be considered (part-time / correspondence courses will not be considered). Candidates who have completed their Secondary and / or Senior Secondary course from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are also eligible to apply if the other courses are full-time
- Highest Qualification: Candidates should have completed the course in the stipulated course duration (i.e., No extended education – course should have been completed in the stipulated period). B. Tech / BE prior to MBA is a mandatory pre-requisite for candidates to qualify under the selection process.
- Backlogs / Arrears / ATKT: Only one backlog is permitted for the candidates from the 2024 year of passing, however all pending backlogs should be cleared within the stipulated course duration. No backlog for the candidates from the 2023 year of passing is permitted during selection process
- Gap / Break in Education: It is mandatory to declare gaps in education if any in the TCS Application Form. Overall academic gap should not exceed 24 months until highest qualification. Relevant document proof, as applicable, will be checked for gaps in education
- Work Experience: Any experience before graduation or any part-time experience is not required and hence will not be considered relevant for the recruitment process.
- Age: Minimum age – 18 years and Maximum age – 28 years
TCS MBA Off Campus hiring Selection Process (TEST)
There are 2 main steps.
Step 1 : Online test
The test will be conducted physically in TCS iON Centres.
The duration of the assessment is 50 minutes, and the test comprises the following sections –
- Verbal Ability
- Reasoning Ability
- Numerical Ability
Step 2: Interview . Selected candidates will be onboarded in FY’24 post course completion.

Application Process for TCS SMART Hiring YoP 2023
Step 1. Logon to the TCS NextStepPortal here
Step 2. Register and Apply to the Drive
Scenario A. If you are a registered user under TCS NextStep Portal, ‘IT’ category, kindly login with your TCS Reference ID (CT / DT reference number) and proceed to complete the application form. Upon submission, kindly click on ‘Apply For Drive’
Scenario B. If you are a new user, kindly click on Register Now, choose category as ‘IT’, register and create your TCS Reference ID (CT / DT reference number). Login with the TCS Reference ID and submit your application form and click on ‘Apply For Drive’
Step 3. Select your mode of test (In-Centre), choose your preferred test centre, select 2 joining locations of your preference and then click on Apply. Please Note, test centre once selected cannot be changed.
Step 4. To confirm your status, check ‘Track Your Application’. The status should reflect as ‘Applied for Drive’

A. You need to enter minimum 9 months in your 10th and 12th standard course duration details.
Q. I had backlogs during my graduation. However, I have now cleared all my backlogs. Am I eligible to appear for the recruitment process?
A. Only one backlog is permitted for the candidates from the 2024 year of passing, however all pending backlogs should be cleared within the stipulated course duration.
Q. Am I supposed to mention CGPA or Percentage? What should I do?
A. The application form has the provision indicating both, CGPA or percentage. Kindly mention what is reflecting in your marksheets / degree certificate.
Q. Can I make changes to my profile as I have made some mistakes in it
A. Limited changes can be done once the profile is in Application Received status. Hence, we request you to complete the application form carefully.
Q. Can I change my photo in the application form?
A. Yes, you can change your photograph before you ‘Submit the Application Form’. Request you to carefully follow the instructions while uploading the photograph.
Q. I have incorrectly created my profile under BPS. What should I do?
A. Only 1 profile needs to be created per candidate. Duplicate profile should not be created. You will need to write to tcsbps.support@tcs.com for the deletion of your profile under BPS and once your profile has been deleted, please create a new profile under IT.
Q. I have created 2 profiles under IT. What should I do now?
A. Only 1 profile needs to be created per candidate. Duplicate profile should not be created. Please write to ilp.support@tcs.com for deletion of your duplicate profile.
Q. I already have my CT / DT number. I need to update my marks / CGPA in my application form. How can I do so?
A. You can update the details by clicking ‘Edit Application Form’ in TCS Nextstep portal.
Q. I am unable to download my Application Form from the TCS Nextstep portal. What should I do?
A. Please upload your photo and CV once again as per the prescribed format and then preview your Application Form. This would also allow you to download your Application Form.
Q. My NextStep account is locked. How can I unlock it?
A. Request you to directly log on to https://nextstep.tcs.com Click the ‘Unlock Account & Reset Password’ link on the Login screen. You will receive an auto-generated email for resetting the password after 30 minutes. Please do not click on the link repeatedly as every time you click on the link, the previous password expires, and a new password is generated and sent to your registered email address.
Request you to use a Desktop / Laptop. Please clear the cache, history and cookies and use the latest version of Internet Explorer / Google Chrome.
